Our core industries for the SMAC technology are in the automotive, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, automation and assembly markets, but our customer base is far reaching and we always welcome the opportunity to explore new technologies and applications.
Using the SMAC single and dual axis controllers, all of the actuators are programmable using 3 different modes controlling position, velocity, and force This allows their performance characteristics can be tightly monitored. The SMAC range is ideal for a range of positioning, measuring, inspection and 100% verification applications. Low friction and zero backlash due to the direct drive nature of their linear motors provide excellent repeatability, together with high speed acceleration from minimal moving mass.
Product Range
Linear Actuators:
SMAC provide a comprehensive selection of linear actuators, ranging from units with 10mm stroke in a compact unit only 20mm in height, to units with 150mm of stroke length or up to 225N peak force. Standard resolution on all SMAC actuators is 5micron with 1micron and half micron options available on most models
Linear/Rotary Actuators - Z Theta:
SMAC provide a comprehensive selection of combined linear/rotary actuators with either direct drive or gearbox equipped rotary units. Standard linear resolution on all SMAC actuators is 5micron with 1micron and half micron options available on most models. The rotary resolution varies between 4864 counts for gearbox units and 20,000 counts for the direct drive LAR34
Linear Slide Actuators:
SMAC provide a comprehensive selection of linear slide actuators. The slide versions are based upon on the LAL models and their performance characteristics are largely the same. Standard linear resolution on all SMAC actuators is 5micron with 1micron and half micron options available on most models
XY Stages and Grippers:
SMAC have recently added to their range of XY's with their smallest ever stage, the LXY10 and a mini XYZ is currently in development. In addition the grippers continue to find use in many markets, one of their key features being the ability to independently control each jaw
Controllers and Amplifiers:
SMAC supply a variety of controllers and amplifiers to support their Actuators. The controllers allow code to be stored in non-volatile RAM which is then used to enable movements to be made in 3 different modes
